Summary

To meet an increasing load, existing chillers with their chilled water ring main have been supplemented by an extra chiller using glycol, and an ice storage tank, coupled in through a plate heat exchanger. The capacities and method of operation were predicted from known power load profiles. Load shaving and lower off-peak tariffs have resulted in substantial savings. The control system is on a learning curve. A.R.T.
