THERMAL STORAGE WITH AMMONIA ABSORPTION REFRIGERATION.

Author(s) : HOLLDORFF G.

Summary

IN ABSORPTION REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS AMMONIA CAN CONTRIBUTE TO ENERGY CONSERVATION BY WASTE HEAT RECOVERY AND OFFERS ATTRACTIVE OPERATIONAL FEATURES. WITH AN INTEGRATED STORAGE SYSTEM THE NORMALLY REQUIRED COHERENCE BETWEEN REFRIGERATION LOAD AND HEAT ENERGY INPUT IS NOT A < MUST >. THAT MEANS THAT EVEN INTERMITTENT THERMAL ENERGY CAN BE USED, AND HEAT SOURCES OTHERWISE NOT YET UTILIZED CAN BE RECOVERED. THIS STORAGE SYSTEM USES THE NORMAL PROCESS FLUIDS (AMMONIA AND AMMONIA-WATER MIXTURE) AND HAS SOME FEATURES SUPERIOR TO CONVENTIONAL THERMAL STORAGE.
