Thermodynamic analysis and comparison of an expander for a CO2 transcritical cycle.

Author(s) : MA Y., WEI D., ZHA S., et al.

Summary

The paper describes the flow process and thermodynamic characteristics of a CO2 transcritical cycle with an expander. From the viewpoint of the geometric structure of reciprocating, rotary, scroll, and screw expanders, the authors analyse their possibilities theoretically. The general requirements of an ideal expander are put forward, and the pros and cons of different types of expanders are compared.
