Thermodynamics and performance potential of R410A.

Author(s) : BIVENS D. B., YOKOZEKI A.

Summary

Thermodynamic property data have been used for developing equation of state coefficients for R410A, the near-azeotropic mixture of R32-R125 (50-50 weight percent) considered to be the leading candidate to replace HCFC-22 in air conditioning and heat pumps applications. Many system tests have shown the same or higher energy efficiency for R410A versus HCFC-22. Reasons for that include higher evaporation heat transfer coefficients, higher compressor efficiency, and lower system pressure drop.
