Toward a cooler Europe?

Vers un refroidissement de l'Europe ?

Summary

Deep ocean waters flow in a well identified path around the planet, taking almost 2000 years to complete each trip. Isotopic analyses of marine fossil organisms show that the speed of this flow has varied in the past and that a slowing had resulted in the cooling of regions to which the ocean brings heat. The increase of rains from the climate change that is likely occurring could slow down deep-water circulation and thus cool Europe' climate.
