Reports the use of bioassays to evaluate the toxic potency of air fresheners purchased in local stores in the USA. The bioassays revealed the presence of potent sensory and pulmonary irritant chemicals as well as neurotoxins which can cause adverse health effects in mice. States the testing predicts that health effects would be experienced by some sensitive humans.
