Transport refrigeration containers: comparison of CFC-11 and HCFC-141b blown polyurethane foams in terms of thermal insulation efficiency.

Comparaison des caractéristiques isolantes des caisses isothermes fabriquées avec des mousses rigides de polyuréthanne pur expansées à base de CFC-11 ou de HCFC-141b.

Author(s) : ROUX J. D., ALBOUY A.

Summary

The paper deals with the thermal insulation efficiency of these materials in refrigerated transport equipment. K-factor changes in several containers were measured over a long period of time. Results clearly show that containers made with R11 or R141b blown foams exhibit similar properties in terms of thermal insulation and energy consumption characteristics.
