Transport refrigeration: refrigerated cargo, vessels and container.
[In German. / En allemand.]

Type of article: Article
Summary
The development of transport refrigeration technology is described using sea transport as an example. Controlled-atmosphere storage that has been used in land-based technology since the 1950s is very successfully being introduced these days into transport equipment. Quality losses in mass products like bananas and apples are thereby being reduced, and exotic fruits can be transported by ship instead of aircraft.
