Summary

The HFC conversion of condensing units is estimated to make a steep progress in 2007 under strong promotion by the industry association, though it took longer time than that of air conditioners refrigerant. The rate of conversion has been higher with the hermetic type, semi-hermetic and scroll types are following nowadays. After the HFC conversion, which achieves the zero ODP, people's concern will be shifted to the global warming prevention. The type of low global warming potential refrigerant must be chosen carefully with assessment of the global warming impact of the product life cycle overall. Therefore, the reduction of CO2 emission by the high system efficiency is the key, and the use of advantageous refrigerant for that purpose is considered to become popular.
