TWO-PHASE FLOW BOILING OF OIL-HFC-134A MIXTURE.

Author(s) : HAMBRAEUS K.

Summary

HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT FOR TWO-PHASE FLOW BOILING IS MEASURED FOR A MIXTURE OF R134A AND TWO DIFFERENT OILS. BOTH OILS ARE ESTER BASED, BUT THEY HAVE DIFFERENT SOLUBILITY CHARACTERISTICS. THE OIL CONTENT VARIES FROM NO OIL TO 5% IN MASS. THE TEST SECTION CONSISTS OF A 10 METER-LONG HORIZONTAL, SMOOTH TUBE. THE HEATFLUX VARIES FROM 2 TO 10 KILOWATTS/M2. THE RESULTS OF THE TESTS FOR HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS FOR MIXTURE OF REFRIGERANT WITH OIL ARE COMPARED TO THOSE FOR PURE R134A. THE RESULTS SHOW THAT OIL HAS MOSTLY A NEGATIVE EFFECT ON THE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT.
