Flow boiling heat transfer and pressure drop for HFC134a in a horizontal tube.

Author(s) : MELIN P., VAMLING L.

Summary

Heat transfer coefficients and pressure drop were determined experimentally for R134a and R12. The difference between heat transfer coefficients for R134a and R12, obtained during the same conditions, increase with evaporation temperature. At 0 to 10 deg C the heat transfer coefficients were 25 to 35% higher and at 20 to 30 deg C an increase of 35 to 45% was found. For pressure drop the measured values obtained for R134a were 12 to 16% higher than for R12 at 0 to 30 deg C evaporation temperature.
