Two-phase pressure drop of R410A in small consecutive U-type wavy tubes.

Summary
The influence of return bend on the frictional performance of R410A in two 3.3-mm diameter wavy tubes with curvature ratios of 3.91 and 8.15 is examined in the study. For the single-phase results, three existing correlations of Ito (1960), Popieil and Wojtkowiak (2000) and Chen et al. (2002) give fair agreements with the presented data. The frictional two-phase multiplier in U bend can be fairly predicted by the Awwad et al. correlation (1995) using the Lockhart and Martinelli relationships and the above three friction factor correlations.
