Summary

THE AUTHORS HAD ALREADY CLARIFIED THAT THE HEAT-TRANSFER BEHAVIOUR BETWEEN THE INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL INSULATED REINFORCED CONCRETE WALLS OF COLD STORES ARE DIFFERENT FROM EACH OTHER WHEN THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE TEMPERATURES OF THE WALL ARE FLUCTUATING. THE THEME OF THE PAPER IS TO PRESENT THE METHOD OF ANALYSIS AND THE PREDICTED UNSTEADY HEAT-TRANSFER CHARACTERISTICS OF CONCRETE WALLS OF COLD STORES DURING THE DAILY VARIATION OF THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE OF THE WALLS AND TO GIVE THE BASIS FOR EFFICIENT DESIGN AND COST OPTIMIZATION OF THE INSULATED WALL OF COLD STORES. THE ANALYZING METHOD WITH TWO-DIMENSIONAL UN-STEADY FINITE ELEMENT METHOD WAS INTRODUCED. USING THIS METHOD, IT IS POSSIBLE TO OBTAIN THE TIME VARIATION OF HEAT FLUX.
