Author(s) : SOROUR M. M.

Type of article: Article

Summary

DESCRIBES A STUDY OF THE HEAT TRANSFER PROCESS BELOW AND ADJACENT TO COLD STORES. CONSIDERS THE COLD STORE DIMENSIONS, TEMPERATURE, FLOOR LEVEL, INSULATION THICKNESS, AND THE INITIAL SOIL TEMPERATURES. ASSESSES A SERIES OF RUNS EXPERIMENTALLY TO VERIFY THE NUMERICAL MODEL AND FINDS THE OUTCOME TO BE ACCEPTABLE. STATES THAT THE STUDY FINALLY REVEALED AN EXPRESSION FOR BOTH AVERAGE FLOOR HEAT FLUX AND THE TIME REQUIRED FOR THE SOIL TO ACHIEVE 0 DEG C.
