Author(s) : GIRARDON P.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The author describes an inerting system used for machines not originally fitted with gas-injection devices for use in creating modified atmospheres for products and containers where vacuum can not be applied for structural reasons and where production speed needs to be maintained. Devices are fitted on a custom-made basis and are used between the filling and sealing phases. Residual oxygen content following packaging is about 1%.
