Summary

Describes work carried out to demonstrate the benefits of using a computational fluid dynamics program for predicting pressure distributions around buildings, which are important factors affecting the air infiltration and ventilation of a building, and consequently its energy consumption. Among the conclusions states that the computational fluid dynamics technique is not only able to predict pressure coefficients but can also give detailed airflow patterns in the form of velocity vectors and pressure and velocity contours.
