Summary
A conveyance technology in gas medium enriched by nitrogen, using liquid nitrogen was developed in order to reduce losses of fruit and to increase transport distances. The technology involves fruit preparation and preliminary cooling in cells or in refrigerating semi-trailers, transport in gas medium, enriched by nitrogen, containing 2-5% oxygen (and the rest nitrogen), at a temperature of 1-5 deg C. The trials performed showed the possibility of increasing transport distances by up to 3 000-4 000 km, and of reducing the losses by 2 to 3 times.
