UTILIZATION OF WASTE HEAT FROM SKOPJE STEEL PLANT USING HEAT PUMPS AS A SIGNIFICANT COMPONENT OF THE DISTRICT HEATING AND ELECTRIC POWER SYSTEMS.

Author(s) : CEREPNALKOVSKI I. S.

Summary

THE AUTHORS PRESENT THE POSSIBLE USE OF WASTE HEAT FOR SKOPJE DISTRICT HEATING SYSTEM THROUGH THREE LARGE HEAT PUMPS. FOR AN OVERALL CAPACITY OF 135 MW,THE PLANT CAN PRODUCE 540 GWH HEAT AT 338 K PER SEASON, IE 52% OF OVERALL HEATING LOADS. WITH THE USE OF A SYNCHRONOUS MOTORS THE PLANT CAN OPERATE IN SUMMER EITHER AS GENERATOR OR AS CONSUMER OF REACTIVE ENERGY. THE TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC ANALYSIS SHOWS THE ADVANTAGES OF SUCH A SYSTEM.
