Summary

SEMIQUALITATIVE CALCULATIONS OF THE INTERACTION CROSS SECTIONS OF VACANCY WAVES WITH VARIOUS CRYSTAL LATTICE DEFECTS IN SOLID HELIUM 4 ARE CARRIED OUT. THE VACANCY WAVE DIFFUSIVITY CONTRIBUTIONS ARE ESTIMATED. A MACROSCOPIC EQUATION IS FORMULATED WHICH DESCRIBES VACANCY WAVE KINETICS WITH AN ACCOUNT FOR VACANCY FORMATION AND ANNIHILATION PROCESSES. THE VACANCY CONTRIBUTION TO THE THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY IS EVALUATED.
