Summary

A SYSTEMATIC STUDY WAS PERFORMED WITH MIXTURES CONSISTING OF NITROGEN, METHANE, ETHANE AND PROPANE, TO INVESTIGATE EXPERIMENTALLY PHASE EQUILIBRIA AND CALORIC PROPERTIES AND TO TEST THE ACCURACY OF THERMODYNAMIC CORRELATIONS. THE FIRST PART OF THE PAPER REPORTS RESULTS OF TEMPERATURE, PRESSURE AND COMPOSITION MEASUREMENTS ON TERNARY SYSTEMS IN THE RANGE OF PRESSURES FROM 20 TO 120 BARS AND TEMPERATURES FROM 140 TO 220 K. THE RESULTS ARE COMPARED WITH DATA CALCULATED BY GENERALIZED EQUATIONS OF STATE.
