Various properties of bismuth (2223) bulk current lead and its application to the cryocooler superconducting magnet.

[In Japanese. / En japonais.]

Summary

The bismuth-2223 bulk current lead formed of a thin-walled sintered cylindrical tube has been developed. The critical current density is over 1000 amperes per cm2 under self magnetic field at 77 K. The heat leakage from 60 to 10 K is estimated at 79.1 milliwatts and the bending strength are 14 to 23 megapascals. The magnet system is running for 26,000 hours without any degradation of the current lead.
