Summary
The vertical open display cabinet is commonly used and is also a large energy consumer. The paper discusses energy models and air distribution in the cabinet. Energy balance considerations and experimental results show that infiltration is the predominant heat load factor. Computational fluid dynamics is used in order to study the air distribution and the influence of the load. The function of air curtains is discussed.
