Summary
The paper deals with the design of a vacuum insulated panel (VIP) that implies a close interaction between designer (or supplier) and final user. Differently from conventional insulation materials, VIPs are complex items whose final performances result from a multi-step design approach. Hereafter, the foremost rules for shelf-life estimation and thermal design are exposed. Moreover, some practical rules for proper usage are also mentioned.
