Warehouse club stores: an emerging market for frozen food.

Author(s) : SALVAGE B.

Type of article: Periodical article

Summary

Club stores are an important and expanding outlet for frozen foods, notably dinners, meat poultry and seafood. Fresh foods are a new area for these outlets and these could eventually equal frozen food. The response of frozen food manufacturers has been variable as clubs sometimes require specific packaged items, and are liable to drop items without notice. The future for clubs appears to be bound up in fresh perishables, convenience foods and an expanded frozen food selection. G.R.S.
