BECAUSE OF THE MATERIAL PROPERTIES OF WATER,IT IS USED FOR TYPICAL COOLING OR HEATING DUTIES IN THE MEDIUM AND UPPER RANGE OF THE PERFORMANCE SCALE (PERFORMANCE RANGE FROM 1 TO 10 MEGAWATTS PER UNIT, OR LOWER). NEXT TO THE ABSOLUTELY ENVIRONMENTAL-FRIENDLY PROPERTIES OF WATER, THERE IS A CLEARLY BETTER UTILIZATION OF ENERGY, IE THE ENERGY DEMAND OF THE WATER VAPOUR PROCESS IS 30 TO 50 % LOWER THAN THAT OF CONVENTIONAL PROCESSES WITH WELL-KNOWN REFRIGERANTS. SO WATER IS AN ALTERNATIVE FOR A SPECIFIC RANGE OF REFRIGERATING AND HEAT PUMP TECHNOLOGIES, WHERE HITHERTO CFCS ARE USED.
