THE BUILDING DESCRIBED IS A NEW 40 LEVEL TOWER IN BRISBANE. A 2,000M2 LOBBY, 9 M HIGH, LEADS TO VARIOUS HEIGHTS OF TENANCY SPACE. RETURN AIR IS TAKEN THROUGH LIGHT FITTINGS AND FROM A PERIMETER SLOT ABOVE THE WINDOWS, THUS DECREASING THE ACTUAL SPACE LOAD, WITH A CORRESPONDING REDUCTION IN SUPPLY AIR VOLUME. FIVE CENTRIFUGAL AND TWO RECIPROCATING COMPRESSOR CHILLERS PROVIDE REFRIGERATION, WITH HEAT REJECTION THROUGH ROOF COOLING TOWERS. AIR HANDLING IS CENTRALISED TO THE POINT WHERE EACH PLANT SUPPLIES A NUMBER OF HALF FLOORS. TWIN SUPPLY FANS GIVE STANDBY AND EXTRA TURNDOWN. EACH VAV TERMINAL IS CONTROLLED BY A LOCAL MICROCOMPUTER MONITORED IN A CENTRAL CONTROL ROOMS WITH FULL FAULT-FINDING CAPABILITY. D.W.H.
