Wet air cooling using ice storage.
Author(s) : RULE J.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The paper describes how a central ice storage plant is employed to provide ice cold water in a flexible manner to individual wet air coolers in individual cold storage rooms. Wet air cooling has become practicable because of the technological improvements in ice banks and the adaptation and laboratory rerating of cooling applications. The lower costs and reliable data now available together with a proven track record allow design to proceed with confidence. Before dealing with wet air cooling a brief review of the traditional dry air cooling is included.
