Available - New IIR publication: Technological options for retail refrigeration
Written by several experts from the acclaimed London South Bank University (UK), the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) is proud to present the “Technological options for retail refrigeration”.
Exclusively accessible online, the book presents a review of display refrigeration technologies for food, then sets out the conditions and rules for the application of these technologies in supermarkets and stores.
The scope of “Technological options for retail refrigeration”
A large number of technologies are available to reduce the carbon footprint of retail refrigeration systems. These can either save carbon through reducing energy usage (indirect effects) and/or through reducing refrigerant leakage (direct effects). The work carried out in this publication covers available carbon saving technologies and evaluates their potential in supermarket refrigeration systems. The work reviews and assesses each technology from published information and provides the reader with an unbiased view on the potential use and benefits of each technology.
The analysis identifies varied benefits for the technologies which greatly depended on the specific method of application, and as such the publication aims to provide a balanced overview of each technology and to quantify evidence of the level of savings that can be achieved.
With over 270 pages, this online book is rich in illustrations, graphs and provides detailed application examples. “Technological options for retail refrigeration” was edited by Alan Foster, Edward Hammond, Tim Brown, Judith Evans and Graeme Maidment.
