Djibouti ratifies the Kigali Amendment

On March 8, 2024, Djibouti ratified the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol, pledging to reduce the production and consumption of hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerants by 85% by 2047. Ratification of the Kigali Amendment is part of the Global Cooling Pledge commitments defined at COP28.

Djibouti is one of the sixty or so countries that have signed the Global Cooling Pledge, thereby contributing to the collective effort to reduce global emissions from cooling by 68% by 2050.
