Highlights of AFF's Journée Fluides 2024 and Vœux du Froid 2025
Find out about the highlights of “Journée Fluides 2024” and get ready for “Vœux du Froid 2025”, two key events organised by the French Association of Refrigeration (AFF) for professionals and partners in the sector.
Journée Fluides 2024: a collective reflection on the challenges and prospects for refrigeration
On 4 December, the International Institute of Refrigeration took part in the "Journée Fluides 2024" (Fluids Day 2024), an event organised by the French Association of Refrigeration (AFF) under the chairmanship of Gérald Cavalier. The event was held at the Lycée Raspail in Paris on the theme of "Refrigerants: urgency and prospects for the industry" and brought together nearly 80 participants, including professionals, students and industry partners.
The 2024 edition was marked by the entry into force of the new European F-GAZ regulation, a decisive step towards the phase-out of fluorinated gases by 2050. Discussions provided an opportunity to analyse the consequences of this development for the industry, and to consider possible solutions to support professionals in this transition.
Recognition for exemplary women’s careers
To round off the day, the AFF awarded the prestigious Charles Tellier Medal to two leading figures in the refrigeration sector: Valérie Lasserre, for her 22 years of dedication to the Chaîne Logistique du Froid and Transfrigoroute France, and Susan Phalippou, for her contributions to the International Institute of Refrigeration and the Revue Générale du Froid (RGF).
A former pharmacist, Susan Phalippou worked for 15 years at the IIR as head of conferences and congresses, as well as scientific awards. She is now European correspondent for the Japan-based technical journal JARN.
Once again, the IIR would like to congratulate the two prize-winners on their outstanding contributions.
Meet us for "Les Vœux du Froid 2025"
On Thursday 16 January 2025, the AFF will be holding its traditional "Vœux du Froid" (Season’s Greetings to the refrigeration sector), in partnership with the International Institute of Refrigeration, Transfrigoroute France, La Chaîne Logistique du Froid, Périfem and the Lycée Raspail (technological and vocational school).
The event will take place from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm in the amphitheatre of the Lycée Raspail, in the 14th arrondissement of Paris, the same venue that hosted the "Journée Fluides".
The evening will be marked by a round-table discussion entitled "Refrigeration, a key player in the energy transition". Among the speakers will be Marco Duran, Head of International Policies and Partnerships at the IIR, who will share an analysis of the global outlook for the refrigeration sector.
The discussions will be followed by a cocktail.
We look forward to seeing many of you there to start the new year together under the banner of refrigeration and cooperation!
