The 30th Conference of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol in Quito, Equador
The 30th Conference of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol took place in Quito (Equador) on 5-9 November 2018. The implementation of the phase down of HFCs was the main topic of the discussions, with particular emphasis on the need to make the energy efficiency of the systems a very important criterion in the choice of the refrigerant and the financing of the projects by the Multilateral Fund. Recent emissions of CFC11 were also at the top of the agenda, with new investigations in China. But practical decisions should be taken in 2019.
