Transport: Hapag-Lloyd switches from R134a to R513A

The German shipping company Hapag-Lloyd has recently purchased 1,000 containers chilled with R513A.

The German shipping company Hapag-Lloyd has recently purchased 1,000 containers chilled with R513A, which has a GWP of less than 56% of the commonly used R134a refrigerant (631 against 1430). R513A is a binary mixture of R134a and R1234yf, and is classified A1 in the ASHRAE safety classification. The 3,700 cubes, each standing 40 foot high, are currently being produced and delivered from MCI’s manufacturing facilities in China and Chile.
