UK: low-charge ammonia frozen food storage
The refrigerant charge on previous ammonia plant which was an estimated 5,000 kg has been reduced to just 188 kg
Brakes recently replaced the frozen food cold storage refrigeration plant at its Bishop's Stortford facility with Azanefreezer, a new air-cooled ammonia refrigeration plant from Star Refrigeration.
Cooling is supplied at – 25°C via two ceiling evaporators. Azanefreezer is incorporating twin screw compressors and an air-cooled condenser.
The design incorporates a unique reverse cycle defrost system to ensure a fast and efficient defrost process.
