Discussion on the critical frequency of flow pattern in the regenerator.

Author(s) : JIN T., WANG B. R., CHEN G. B., et al.

Summary

Dynamic loss, depending heavily on flow characteristics, will affect the performance of regenerator, and then of the system including the regenerator. Frequency dependency of flow pattern is important in related investigations. A critical frequency, above which Poiseuille flow would break down, is introduced with dynamic theory of boundary layer for fluid saturated porous media. The authors focus on the influence from operating condition and structure parameters on the critical frequency.
