Refrigerated transport equipment has strongly developed during the last 60 years in line with the development of food exchange worldwide. Food safety can now be achieved throughout transport and logistics operations that for decades were the critical point of the cold chain. But at the crossroads of refrigeration and transport, this equipment is now facing the challenge of sustainability and environmental performance. Even through many technical solutions have been tested during the last decades, there is still a lot of room for improvement. The challenge is major and relevant.
