Summary
Transporting perishable foodstuffs started in 1876 with the first transatlantic voyage of Ch. Telliers's ship "le Frigorifique" with a shipment of chilled meat, from France to Argentina and back. It was during the next year that F. Carré achieved the first shipment of frozen meat, along the same route.
