Summary

POSSIBLE FUTURE LEGISLATIVE RESTRICTIONS ON THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION OF HOUSEHOLD REFRIGERATORS AND FREEZERS WILL MAKE NECESSARY A UNIFORM STANDARD OF MEASUREMENT, OR AT LEAST COMPARABILITY IN MEASUREMENTS BASED ON DIFFERENT STANDARDS. DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE US AHAM STANDARD AND THE GERMAN DIN STANDARD FOR MEASURING ENERGY CONSUMPTION ARE DESCRIBED AND EXEMPLIFIED USING A TYPICAL US-MADE FROSTFREE REFRIGERATOR-FREEZER UNIT.
