Summary

Substitution of ammonia by methylamine is proposed in neutral gas absorption refrigeration units using hydrogen as the pressure equalising gas. The throttling process of the conventional refrigeration units is being replaced by the diffusion of evaporated methylamine through the hydrogen atmosphere. The final results are given in psychrometric charts for pressures from 1.75 to 2.75 megapascal and temperatures between -30 and 50 deg C.
