Summary

The paper deals with a freezing method for the cryopreservation of rat liver cells, including different cooling rates and a cryoprotectant. After thawing, the survival rates are discussed together with the activities of the different enzymes, compared to the enzyme activities of non-treated living cells. The freezing protocol is supposed to be suitable for a variety of other species.
