Summary

The performance of a CO2 air-conditioning system using an ejector was numerically investigated for several entrainment ratios of ejector. An ejector which is installed to function as an expansion device makes it possible to elevate the compressor suction pressure and accordingly the compressor work can be reduced. In this study, a simulation program was developed to calculate the performance of CO2 air-conditioning system using an ejector. A two-phase chocking model was selected to determine the mass flow rate of primary flow of ejector, and the marginal suction mass flow rate was calculated to guarantee the system performance enhanced compared to the conventional system. For various operating conditions and entrainment ratios, the system performance was investigated and the effects of some important factors were analyzed.
