Summary

In order to reduce the non-uniformity of the flow distribution caused by the excessive height in the large-scale vertical radial flow adsorber, a new kind of parallel connection device is presented in this study. A mathematical model of the parallel connection vertical radial flow adsorber is established to simulate the flow field in the adsorption bed, and the characteristics of the static pressure drop profile and the radial velocity profile are obtained. And this flow distribution of the vertical radial flow adsorber is compared with the one using height-increasing method under the condition of the same bed height. It is shown that the parallel connection device can increase the uniformity by 80% than the height-increasing method.
