IIR document

A simulation model and study of hydrocarbon mixtures for residential heat pump systems.

Summary

The paper describes an advanced semi-theoretical vapour compression cycle model (CYCLE-11). This is an improved version of an earlier model and now allows for counter-, cross- and parallel-flow heat exchangers, and can account for differences in transport properties of working fluids. The latest NIST refrigerant properties algorithm (REFPROP) has been incorporated, providing some 38 different refrigerants with up to 5-component-mixture capabilities.
