THE FIRST PART OF THE PAPER CONCERNS THE APPLICATION OF THE RANKINE/RANKINE CYCLE ON HEAT PUMP TECHNIQUE AND PRESENTS THE DESIGN OF A RECIPROCATING HEAT PUMP-HEAT ENGINE COMBINATION DEVICE. A NEW HORIZONTAL RECIPROCATING HEAT PUMP COMPRESSOR HAS BEEN CONSTRUCTED WITH SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE. THE AUTHORS ALSO REPORT THE TRANSFORMATION OF AN OIL GAS SCREW COMPRESSOR INTO A HEAT PUMP WITH SUCCESS. THE SECOND PART DEALS WITH AN OPTIMAL DESIGN OF EVAPORATION PROCESS WITH HEAT PUMP.
