Summary

TREATS THE DEVELOPMENT OF A HEAT PUMP INCORPORATING THERMOCHEMICAL ENERGY STORAGE. THE HEAT PUMP WAS DESIGNED TO UTILISE THE ECONOMY 7 ELECTRICITY TARIFF WITH AMBIENT AIR AS THE HEAT SOURCE. A DOMESTIC-SIZED HEAT PUMP INCORPORATING A NH3 -LIQUIDISED CALCIUM CHLORIDE SYSTEM WAS BUILT AND TESTED. THE AVERAGE VALUES OF THE COP WAS 2.8.
