Summary
All heat pumps (compression, absorption, adsorption) have the same working principle based on the effect of exergetic (mechanical or chemical) flow on heat flow and use can be made of this effect. Exergy losses in the components of each heat pump are represented by surfaces in a diagram in which the Carnot factor is plotted with respect to transferred heat flow.
