ABSORPTION HEAT PUMP PERFORMANCE FOR DIFFERENT TYPES OF SOLUTIONS.

Author(s) : PEREZ BLANCO H.

Type of article: Article, IJR article

Summary

IN THIS WORK, THE THERMODYNAMICS OF BINARY SOLUTIONS IS APPLIED TO A SIMPLE HEAT PUMP MODEL TO DETERMINE WHICH TYPE OF SOLUTION OPTIMIZES THERMAL PERFORMANCE FOR A GIVEN REFRIGERANT (AMMONIA). IT IS FOUND THAT ALTHOUGH SOLUTIONS WITH NEGATIVE DEVIATIONS FROM RAOULT'S LAW ENHANCE THE PERFORMANCE, THERE IS A LIMIT AS TO HOW STRONGLY THE SOLUTION SHOULD NEGATIVELY DEVIATE.
