Absorption heat pump using new organic working fluids.

Summary

New working fluids are investigated and it is concluded that new organic working fluids, namely trifluoroethanol (TFE) as the refrigerant and dimethylimidazolidinone (DMI) as absorbent are very promising. Property data are measured. Mass and heat transfer characteristics are also investigated in a practical aspect using laminated plate type absorber. A prototype residential chiller/heat pump system is built to prove its feasibility.
