Summary
Following a discussion of the suitability of working fluids and of thermally-activated machines themselves, a selective overview of research in absorption chillers and heat pumps is given. First, analytical methods for working fluid pair selection are reviewed. An overview of recent developments in small air-cooled machines and recent innovative system integrations is then given. Finally, research trends and recent developments are discussed.
