Absorption system in combined heat and power.
Author(s) : MASHIMO K., IKUMI Y.
Summary
Typical examples of the absorption system in CHP (combined heat and power) are explained in the paper, according to various designs. Hot water as waste heat is supplied to operate single effect absorption chillers in CHP using gas engine, and steam is used for double effect absorption chiller in CHP using gas turbines. On the contrary, absorption heat pumps which recover incineration waste heat are mainly used in district heating or cooling plants in Europe. Twelve case studies are presented.
