A new trigeneration system for commercial buildings.
Author(s) : WHITE S. D., KNOWLES J.
Summary
Trigeneration systems can be employed in commercial buildings to reduce energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions throughout the year. A novel trigeneration system employing hot air heat recovery offers potential for improved integration compared with traditional systems. A promising hot air fired absorption chiller was identified and simulations suggest that it could deliver about 0.75 kilowatt of cooling for every kilowatt of electricity produced by a high temperature gas engine. Cost savings are discussed.
